Going to lose all info on blackberry 7290 if I enter incorrect pw once more. Info not backed up as laptop was stolen. If anyone has a way to start over or find password, I will pay reward!

No go, find a way to back it up or you loose it all no way around it.

You can sync it to any PC that has the desktop software and set it up so the BB wins on the sync or do a backup of the BB. I am not sure if it will ask for a password during the sync process.

My bigger suggestion would be to just type in the correct password?

It will not sync without the password and any failed attempts on the desktop count against the 10 total count (at least if I recall correctly)..

Of course, the best suggestion is to type the correct password. I find it odd that people would forget their password.. (unless they haven't used the device in quite some time, had to quickly set a password and then promptly forgot it, or my favorite, its not their device to begin with

needed to put in new password but when I responded with what I had just put in it didn't work, so don't know if accidentally hit wrong key. That's the problem.

Sorry you are out of luck with this Blackberry. (found or stolen?)

Otherwise if your company has a BES they can most likely reset the password on your device.

Gotta tell ya, you're screwed. BB's were designed to be secure, and that's just what it's doing. Make sure you are capitalizing where necessary and putting in the right numbers if applicable.

tomryan - you are correct, I just backed up my BB for the first time after I set a password and it asked for the PW before it would do the backup. I would maybe go with the BES Admin, once you type in the last pw in error, it immediately goes into a initialization process and wipes it clean.

Personally I am leaning towards the BB being stolen or "found" for this guy. I don't see how a person forgets their pw to a BB. I mean I have to enter my pw everytime I remove it from the holster or let it sit for more than 20 mins. I mean its just too many things come into play here. Laptop was stolen so not backed up, forgot pw, etc..... Not saying that all these things couldn't happen but its not too likely. Good luck on starting from scratch.
