I'm playing around with Theme designer 5 and I want to have a spot on my home screen for a dedicated weather icon.

how do you go about doing that?

thanks!

Basically you need to create an SVG file for your home screen that is mapped to a particular "slot" on the application list. In my weather theme I use slot6 (first icon in second row), but it can be located anywhere.

Take a look at these threads to get some samples of SVG files and ideas:

Should get you started on the right track.

Or you can just make the icons on the home screen user defined, and let the end user choose what icons show based on the order of the icons on the application screen.

.svg is a bit advanced and requires that you use Composer. Using app order is pretty simple and straight forward.

yeah I looked briefly at the composer method, I think when I get better I'll try that one.

Do any of you guys have suggestions or links that talk about using hidden docks etc.. I have an idea for a theme that is geared toward people who like pictures on their homescreen without anything blocking them.

let me know, I'm going to search around a bit.

thanks again.
