my blackberry has a strange symbol at the top of the screen it looks like a little orange globe with a number 1 next to it. Does anyone know what this is and how to remove it. thanks

Not definite but have you checked your Emails, Texts and then your 'Messages' folder? Messages sometimes saves unsent or incomplete (draft) messages in that folder but nowhere else I've noticed. It may be a message with a green icon. If so, delete it.
