Default complete phone load up

Please Login to Remove!

anyone aware of any software that has the ability to do a complete back up of 3rd party apps. and has the ability to reload everything in one whack.

i have some of the well known programs for backing up the entire apps list in phone. but in reloading, they can only do one file at a time. kinda time consuming. specially the programs that have 2 or 3 files.

anything that can do everything? regardless of wether it's a cod, jad, or alx file.

i don't mine a little work but 3 hours is a little too much work. loading files and waiting for phone reboots.

ok, don't know when that help section was published. but it's for desktop manager 4.2 running xp. kinda outdated information. i have 5 on my curve. and desktop 5 is the only thing that will connect to phone. i'm also running windows vista. i had no luck finding the file to finish what the instructions say.

The FAQ still works basically. One of the steps is slightly different although I can't remember which. But I've done it with DM versions up to 5. The folder ends up in my local settings temp folder in XP. Vista will put it somewhere different.

Did you try a search for your PIN number in the general search? If not try searching for *.cod and it should find the regular install files, but also that folder.

I use it all the time to back up BB third party and OTA apps.

It's not hard.

Start Desktop Manager (I am using the latest version - 5.0.1). If your BB is password protected it will ask for the password.

Click on Device Switch Wizard, then Switch BlackBerry Devices.

In the options frame (the right side) uncheck EVERYTHING except "Third-party applications".

Click Next. If your BlackBerry is password protected, it will ask for the password.

When asked to "Please connect your new device" click cancel.

The backup of your third party and OTA applications will now be in the %temp% folder, under the name of the device PIN.

i'm gonna check out this new procedure. now the instructions say to load phone first then add apps. anyone know the results if you add WHILE loading the phone. doing a one step procedure instead of a two step procedure?

also, i'm noticing it didn't get ALL the apps. gonna have to save the cods and transfer them over to the pin file so the list is complete.
