Angry Music Player on 9700

Please Login to Remove!

Okay so I love my 9700 but when I'm listening to music either on speakerphone or on BT headphones, anytime I get a message it pauses the music and I have to manually go in and hit play again. 80% of the time the track restarts. A little frustrating. Anyone else have this issue? Is there a way to stop that from happening?

Hm... I have music playing in the background, and I have sent and received both BBM and SMS messages. Music never stopped. Seems to work fine for me, unless I am not understanding what you're saying is happening to your phone.

getting an MMS or BBM, email or SMS shouldnt make your song stop. On my phone, it just messes up the sound of the "alert" or whatever sort of message is coming in but doesn't stop unless there is a PHONE CALL (even then the songs picks up from where it was paused on its own after the call disconnects)

I had the phone not resume playing this morning after it stopped when a phone call came in. Odd. Oh well...

I have the very same issue every so often. I'll play my music right before a shower & then a message comes in and I have to hop out to press play, again.

I think it has something to do with the "Vibrate with ringtone". When I have my BB on the "Vibrate only" Profile, the music never stops. I'll try having it with "Vibe w/ Ringtone" option off & get back to you.

***OKAY!
I think I was right. When messages come in while my phone has the "Vibrate with ringtone" option on & music is playing (in the background or not), it stops.
I turned off the option & when it vibrates BEFORE the ringtone, the music stays playing.

I hope RIM can fix this in the next firmware update.

My old Flip plays music even when taking pictures, and will also play music while receiving sound alerts and notifications. But now my storm 2 won't do that. The music briefly stops to play the sound of any message so I changed all my alerts to vibrates and leave sound only to phone ringer.
It is an OS 5 issue and very annoying.

Mine is on Vibrate AND Tone and it doesn't do this... I just hear the tone above the music and feel the vibration. Music only stops when phone rings, then resumes when I finish call.

I have Motorola S9 Bluetooth Headphones.

10 minutes ago, I was searching up reasons why this was an issue with my 9700... but I remembered this line, "When in doubt, pull it out."

I just did a battery pull. And the music doesn't cut off anymore.
