Hi, this morning I found that the DM icon on my desktop is gone, missing, not there. I went to the control panel and it is in the programs list. But I can't find it anywhere on my computer! What happened?

Are you talking about a shortcut?

If so, you or something deleted it, apparently. Is it in your trash folder? Restore it, or create another yourself. That is, if you are talking about a shortcut.

Well, I first noticed that the shortcut was gone from my desktop. THen I looked for it in programs, not there, and then I went to the control panel and it does list it as being installed on my computer. But I can't find it! WTH???

I'll ask just because you never know: You looked again, carefully, through the applications list accessed via the Windows start button? What about using windows explorer and looking for the directory?

How do I use windows explorer to look for the directory? I already did the thing with the Windows start button several times!

Cant remember how to search from XP.
Its a convienent box in the right hand corner of a Window (my computer for example) for vista and 7.

Do you still have the original .exe file to install DM?
Use it, click MODIFY in the box it presents and go through it, it should restore the installation shortcuts.

If you didn't change the install location it should be at Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\DesktopMgr.exe

I ended up uninstalling and then reinstalling it. That did the trick.
