Lightbulb Verizon Wireless Network Extender and VZ Navigator

Please Login to Remove!

After working with VZW tech support for 30 minutes, we (me and the tech) discovered that you cannot use VZ Navigator while your phone is associated to a Wireless Network Extender. I was in a section of my house that normally has VZW service, but because I have a network extender the phone was associated to it (due to it being the strongest signal). When I tried to use VZ Navigator (I like to map address before I leave so I have time to print a map or call to validate an address). When I get to the point of actually locating/creating the map my phone gave me the error telling me to call *611 to verify that my account was setup with VZ Navigator. I unplugged the Wireless Network Extender and was able to use VZ Navigator again. Just a FYI for users that purchased a Wireless Network Extender.

Wirelessly posted (Tour)

Pretty sure its just for cell service not data. That may be why.

Got a network extender,(Samsung SCS-26UC4) hooked it up to my broadband... everything works great now. Previously nothing worked. I thought it was strictly for phone call enhancement but all my apps fire right up and run without stutter. I even try to run 4 or 5 apps simulatanously in hopes of finding the limitations. It all runs well now... from not at all. My home signal was -95 to -120. now it's -80 to -95. Big difference and helps all operations across the board. I could not be happier. Surprised VZ nav is having troubles because one main issiue for the extender is to get satelight positioning first before operation. But my Magellan would run circles around the VZ nav unit. Maybe you just cant find satelite positioning from your location... I've heard of this. Are your regular apps running right?

Default home on the range extended

I cannot speak about VZ prem services, but it has allowed my all my BB apps to run and the browser rules the internet. Before having one of these I couldn't even hold a 2 minute phone call. However you must have Broadband Internet... thats what it runs off of. You'll have a rocking signal in your home or business. Plus you must have a minimum of marginal signal to run this. (Again, I'm told) Was worth the hassle.
