not sure if you're trying to be funny or not...But I understand what interoperability means. My question is what does premier offer that the free version does not? In other words, how does it work better than the free version?

I don't believe Rambo was being funny, considering you asked what it meant in the thread title....

Just by reading the link you provided, I can tell that the premier version is for businesses, with mulitple devices, a kinda of BES of the google apps.
Whereas the free verison is more BIS of the google apps.

Google Apps Standard Edition helps groups build communities - Google Apps Standard Edition

Though that doesn't go into detail regarding Blackberry interoperability. From what I can tell they seem to be mostly talking about their BES connector as all the other BB stuff on this page seems like it would be available with Standard Edition as well:

Mobile access to email, calendar, contacts, and more - Google Apps for business

As for "Microsoft Outlook interoperability" it means you can use Outlook as a client app.

It's all on their site if you look.
