Default modding my holser...

Please Login to Remove!

so I am one of those guys who can never leave something alone. I have to modify it, change it, make it better. nothing is (almost) ever actually good enough for me right out of the box - and one of those things is the blackberry holster. The holster the BB comes with doesnt have any provision for you to plug it into the chanrger, or headphones while it is holstered. I like to keep mine holstered at night, so the keyguard is on and the screens not unning all night long - but I cant do that with the stock holster. - till now...

so in the spirit of the DIY Master, I decided to "fix" my blackberry holster, to allow me the provision of holstering it while plugged in. and while Iwas at it, I even customised it to match my Sciroccos interior.

I just ripped out all the stiching and cut some of the pleatehr away where the ports are. then I replaced all the stiching with red. I think it came out nice. what doyou think?

and a pic of my car for fun

Nice idea! Hopefully someone at RIM will see your mod and start making them this way!

Oh what are you a boot maker or something? Really, what do you do for a living? You may have missed your calling. Awesome cleverness!

*laugh* no, not really, I'm a technology specialist(computers, networking, web design), but I'm known as a DIY Master in a few circles.. I am mostly into cars as of late, and I reupholstered my Scirocco.

and made a car seat cover for my 1 year old to match.

Ha! O.K. An upholsterer then. I'm afraid we are getting a little off top here, but really am impressed. Keep the gift going.

thanks, back on topic tho:

I wanted to have made it with the ability to put it in the holster While it was plugged in, instead of needing to holster it and plug it, and unplug it before I could answer it, but without the top edge stiched together it looked really sloppy. I just wish the ports were on the top. but what can you do?
