Default Words not wrapping in text boxes in Browser

Please Login to Remove!

We've noticed that text does not wrap in input boxes in the web browser. Since one of the main intended uses of the BB is writing in forums this is a bit of a problem! Browsing the web suggests that that this a well-known problem and might be solved by a software upgrade. Does anyone know what level of software we need? (The Options->About screen says v4.6.0.247 (Platform 4.0.0.206. I don't know how to find the Browser's version number.)

Just upgrade to the latest software, which is stickied in the thread at the top of this forum. As for the browser problem, are you using wifi or on the blackberry data plan.

Can the software upgrade be done with version 4.2 of Desktop Manager?

I read somewhere that it's a good idea to use the latest Desktop Manager for upgrading the OS. However, when I installed the version of Desktop manager from the CD (version 4.6) I found that this was incompatible with Outlook XP, which we need to be able to sync with. So, I've downgraded to version 4.2.

Regarding the Browser, we're using it in Hotspot mode. We don't have a BB data plan.

Why don't you just upgrade the os using loader.exe rather than desktop manager.

miami, the loader.exe version will still be 4.2
So either way, the question remains, can it be done on 4.2 and yes it should.

There are quite a number of threads on the web suggesting that this is a long-standing problem (going back at least a year) and that it has not yet been addressed in recent software releases. Since other things seem to be working as expected, I think I'll hold off updating the OS until I really need to. Thanks for your help.
