So far, so good. Installed it last night. Took about 30 minutes from start to finish for me. Very easy install. Now to test and gather additional impressions.

Built-in VAD (voice dialing) also does not work with this release -- but Vlingo does (and did not in 190), so there's a good hands-free dialing option for us with this release.

Saw one person there saying they can't get berrybuzz to work... Another says it works.. Was thinking about purchasing this app...
Guess that's what the Trial Download button is for :D

It's not 100% functional, but it works enough that it won't be too much of a hinderance. Some issues with the reminders but it's no big deal. I like it :D.

So I installed the trial version and the only the time options with respect to the pulse and the time between etc. No options about color and well.. the seconds I set dont seem to be staying...
Is this because I'm on trial or... ? :s
edit.. trying a battery pull now

Did you install 2.1.31 or 2.1.22? For 5.0 you need to install 2.1.31.
I would think the trial version would give you everything the paid version has to offer, but I believe it's only available for 7 days. I bought mine off CB so I don't exactly know what the trial version would look like.

I don't think I'll be trying this one, since my current OS right now isn't giving me any problems. I'll just wait for the official version.
I used to jump on leaked OS back then, but I don't really do that anymore lol.

Not sure about numbering convention, but when I check help/about in my BeeJive install (which works beautifully on my 8900 with 5.0.0.238), I see:
Build Name: BlackBerry/4_6
Build Version: 1.1.1
Latest Version: 1.1.1
When I check Options/Applications, I see that the Version is 1.1.1.1
What's 1.96?
EDIT: never mind -- sorry -- found the reference to beta 1.96... But wasn't that the version that was laggy and disconnected a lot on the last 5.x.x.x build?

What kind of Wi-Fi setup do you have? I'm using pretty much the exact same setup with 5.0.0.238 that I also used with 5.0.0.190, 5.0.0.130, 4.6.1.250 -- and it has worked fine with all of them. Seems good overall -- about the same as it was in 190, although not quite as stable as it was with 4.6.1.250. But, in general, it connects quickly when in range of my router (I'm using a Linksys WRTU54G-TM, WPA2-Personal / TKIP), I can make excellent (and lengthy) voice calls, data speeds are excellent, and it seems that all my apps are happy talking over the connection.
What kind of issues were you having?

I copied the .COD files from 5.0.0.190 for the VAD. Some of the functions work. "Check" commands work fine. "Call 1 555 555 5555" commands work. Unfortunately, "Call Roommate Mobile" type commands fail. Even after training for my voice using the wizard in the Options. Kind of shitty since I sometimes do use VAD in the car. Ah well, it's nothing new to see things get broken in newer beta releases. As long as it's all fixed by final release, I'm happy =)

For some reason it wouldn't connect to any open/secured Wifi at all.. I thought originally it was because of my Wifi that was an issue, but even trying to connect to a holiday inn or other open networks wouldn't automatically occur either, even when I try to connect to it manually it would still not connect for me.
I deleted my wifi profiles to try to start from scratch, and it still wouldn't connect.. So after reverting back to 4.6 I scan for my secure network, punch in my information and voila, connects like a charm.
I can't wait for 5.0 to be official though, I really liked that OS.
