Question New Blackberry user. Few questions

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone. I just received my blackberry pearl 8100 a few days ago and have a few questions.

[i] Where can I get free themes?

[ii] How do I add themes?

[iii] How do I know what OS I have?

[iv] How do I update my current OS?

Thank you

[i] - look in the Media section or theme sites like PimpMyBerry! - Pimp Your BlackBerry!
[ii] - see [i]
[iii] - Options / About
[iv] - look in the Sticky Thread for the 8100 at the top of the General 8100 Series Discussion (where you already are)...

Good luck.

thank you for the reply. If I was to update my current version which is v4.2.1.108 to v4.5 could anything go wrong? Will my current default theme for my phone still work with the v4.5?

Edit: Must I have any software installed before I can update my OS or do I just download the update and install on my PC?

Thanks

Could something go wrong. Yes. Follow the steps detailed line by line to lessen the risk.

Will the default theme work? Maybe. All depends on the theme and the carrier...

My suggestion on upgrading the OS, get to know the device first. Learn what it can and cannot do. You might find that it actually isn't broken and doesn't need the OS upgrade fix.

you should upgrade your OS if you might want to watch any kind of videos (on the internet) like youtube. However, you may not be able to use the youtube app. At least my 8100 with t-mobile, I can't. have fun with your new phone. I can't wait to upgrade my phone. lol.
