Default I hate my BB 8120 - PLEASE HELP!

Please Login to Remove!

I have had my Orange BB 8120 (Pay as You Go) since May 2009 and have had nothing but endless problems with it, ever since. I can successfully send emails from it but not receive them. While all my daily emails are being received via Outlook Express on my home PC, I am lucky if I receive 1 in 20 emails on my BB.

I returned it to the Orange Shop and when they could not fix it they told me it was a BlackBerry problem. I phoned BlackBerry and when they could not fix it they told me it was my service provider, Tiscali’s, problem. And, yes, they couldn’t fix it either and they told me it was Orange’s problem. And, now I am at my wit’s end. I hate the wretched thing but I keep living in hope that it will rectify itself.

The only time I have had any ‘semi success’ is when I was working 400 miles away (in Scotland, I am based in London) for one week. I received a great number of them but when I got back home I was disappointed to discover that at least 12 had not made it to my BB. I am sent around 10 emails a day from Greece and average one a week on the BB

Incidentally, is there any way around sent emails from the BB not being copied on Outlook Express or is this something I have to live with?

Also, I do not seem to be able to delete any emails or text messages that I have saved to draft!

One last question, please! How do I look the keyboard.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Much obliged

You probably have Outlook Express set to 'Delete Messages From Server' after it retrieves the email and downloads it to your computer.
If so, then the BlackBerry service isn't going to have a chance to grab the message and push it to your device.
Turn off the 'Delete Messages...' setting in Outlook Express and you'll be a happy person.

Emails sent from your device will never show up in Outlook Express. You'll need to live with that.

No idea about not being able to delete drafts.

Lock the keyboard by setting a password on your device.

WOW! Now why could BlackBerry not have told me that all those months ago?

Thank you so much. I have received everything that was sent to my PC via Outlook Express on my BlackBerry also this morning!

This will make such a difference to my business and personal life now! It may have been easy for you to answer my question but believe me, I owe you BIG TIME, penguin3107!

I was truely ready to 'bin' this BalckBerry 8120! I still hate it, though!!

Thanks again, what a fab forum!
