BlackBerry 8100 Help!!!!
Please Login to Remove!
Hi guys, i am in need of some help.. :(
I just sold my (working) phone, and bought a blackberry used off of craigslist, When i got there, they had the phone charging, so i turned it off, and put my Sim card in (i forgot to say i'm on t-mobile) after it started up, instead of the network being EDGE, its GSM.... The last time i had a blackberry, it was always Edge, So i couldn't send or receive texts, call or receive phone calls, I called my brother, and he told me to turn the wireless off, and back on, i did that, and it didn't work, he told me to buy it anyway, i brought it home, and we did a hard reset, it still didn't work, i download the newest update (4.5) and tried to run that, all it says is Your BlackBerry is already up-to-date, however if i go to Settings-About this is what the first 4 lines read,
BlackBerry 8100
Wireless Handheld (EDGE)
v4.2.1.107 (Platform 2.3.0.83)
Cryptographic Kernel v3.8.4.34
Under mobile network- Data Services On
Mobile Network T-Mobile
Host Routing Table- nothing in here, and if i try to register, it says "Registration Message queued. It will be send once data coverage is available."
I'm really lost here, I'm going to bring it down to a t-mobile store tomorrow, but i'm hoping someone on here can help me.
Thanks!

Well no, but the last time i had a blackberry that didn't matter, in fact, my internet from my previous plan even worked.
My brother does have the blackberry plan, and he put his sim in my 8100, and it didn't make a difference, Same thing it does to me.

Sadly, they won't answer my calls.
I Went in to a T-mobile store today, the lady there tried a few things, but she ended up having me call in to tech support while i was there, And of course, i got stuck on the phone with a black lady (no offense) And it was really annoying, irritating, i couldn't hear anything she was saying, her accent was really difficult to understand, She told me to try everything i already did... So it was of no help to me, she told me to try to update it. I ended up deleting the whole entire OS, so when i would power on it would say Error 502.
I re-installed, and it still doesn't work.
Before the black lady, it would say GSM in the top right hand corner, and it would stay on 3-4 bars, now when i turn it on, it has 3-4 bars, that last for 15-30 seconds and then go away... So i'm going to try once more and call in tomorrow morning, and try to get someone that is easy to understand, and knows what their actually doing.
I'm super irritated with this phone.
Especially since i sold my other phone, to get this one, so i have no phone.

I'm having the same problem. I went to the mobile network settings and it shows AT&T and I do have all the bars for a network strength. But when I run the diagnostics test, this is what I get:
Radio Data Activation: No
Signal Level: Unknown
Radio Access: Unknown
Network: Unknown
IP Address: Unknown
ICMP Ping Echo: No
Blackberry Registration: No
Connected to Blackberry: No
Blackberry PIN-PIN: No
The rest is just phone specs. I called AT&T and they ran me through everything they could it seems. The phone shows the AT&T network is being received but I'm just not able to make any calls.
