Today I encountered a phone menu that required me to dial letters, for example I had to dial *H. When I tried to dial <*> <alt> <5(H)> I got three tones, the * tone, the 5 tone and then the 4(actual H) tone. Of course the menu didn't accept this.

Any ideas on how to dial letters once you've connected to the phone number?

Did you try just pressing *H?

Dubdub: *H gives the tone for *5 which is incorrect

JSanders: I tried pressing and holding, I tried pressing and not holding. Neither one worked.

Any other suggestions?
