Default Can't see media card folders in Windows...

Please Login to Remove!

Any help here is appreciated. I'll list everything I've done:

1. Setup --> Memory -->

a. Media Card Support = On
b. Encryption Mode = None
c. Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) = On
d. Mass Storage Mode Support = On
e. Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected = Yes

2. I've formatted the card and re-formatted the card.

3. I've done a battery pull after all these settings just to be sure.

When I connect the phone to the PC, everything comes up normal. I can run Desktop Manager and sync my contacts, etc. The one thing I can't do, however, is go to Windows Explorer and see the folders on the media card. In fact, with the settings above, the phone doesn't even register in windows explorer.

If I change the Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected to No then the phone appears in Windows Explorer but I can't see the folders. I can only see the media card.

I've since tried running the BB Activation Storage New script from Pinstack with no luck either. I've never had this issue with any of my other blackberries and live on transferring files in explorer. I've searched forum after forum and it seems like my blackberry just isn't working. I love everything else about my Tour...Please help. Thanks.

You need to start BB desktop and run Media Manager.
The pic are then available under the BLACKBERRY 2 drive.

Media Manager is my last resort. I should be able to just see my media card as a USB drive right? It doesn't even show up in windows explorer. I looked under Device Manager and found an exclamation mark for a disk drive that is my blackberry. Here's the error:

USBSTOR\DISK&VEN_RIM&PROD_BLACKBERRY_SD&REV_0003\7 &1D70AB74&0&88832F4240E405441F40EC339AED7AB005ED08 A5&0

It tells me the device cannot start. This looks like a driver issue but I'm using the software that came with the Tour and I'm using Win XP? It's not like I'm cutting edge.

cruwl, I'm using my laptop with XP, and I haven' tried to use the big pc with vista.
But, my method works fine with XP and explorer. I move pics back and forth with the mouse.

Sorry pdutta2000, we were typing together.

Yes, it comes up just like a flash drive, or any other portable mem device.
The desktop media manager must provide a protocol link so the data can be viewed.

You could try uninstalling the driver in device manager, then restarting. See here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...rt/driver.mspx

Disconnect the BB and shut down Desktop Manager before doing that.

Quick Update. I've narrowed it down to a driver issue. I tried your suggestion Daphne and it worked the first time but when I tried to re-attach the blackberry I got the same exclamation point on the same drive. There's clearly some type of driver issue I'm having. I'm going to plow through it and keep this post updated. I still don't see the 2 drives like most people do. I only get a drive for the media card. I've never seen a drive for the internal device memory in windows explorer. One issue at a time I guess.

What version of Desktop Manager are you using? If you're using DM 5, you could try uninstalling it and getting 4.7. Be sure to temporarily turn off real time protection on your AV while installing it.

Also is this on XP or Vista?

Another possible problem is drive letter names. There are some posts here about that, should come up on a search.

Edit...maybe not your problem, but worth checking.
