hello.. i have problem with my 8900 Javelin, my BB messanger is ver 4.6, yesterday i tried to upgrade to ver 5.0 from handheld, but it gone with error n now i do not have any BBM on my handheld,
i have desktop manager version 4.7 n i already install "8900M_PBr4.6.1_rel158_PL4.2.0.69_A4.6.1.94_Ro gers .exe" into my PC, but when i run application loader n click browse to install "blackberrymessager 4.6.1.alx", it shows error like this "no additional applications designed for your device" please help me what to do, can i just install BBM into my phone, or if i full install new OS to my phone, can BBM appears automatically? thx for the help

what you need to to do is google search error installing BBM5 for 8900... and you will find your answer

You need to delete the vendor.xml file to reinstall BBM 4.6.

Install the BBM5 with the attached zip file contents. Just unrar/unzip the directory items. Copy the .alx file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8900-v4.6.1.250_P4.2.0.113 (ignore my OS version; your one might different) and all the .cod files to the following directory and replace all the files if you get the prompt- copy all the .cod file from BBM 5 folder to this C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8900-v4.6.1.250_P4.2.0.113\Java.

Once you are done this . Plug in the USB on your PC connect your BB run the loader.exe (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader) NOT your DM. Run the loader.exe double click next and update the Phone and reboot and Enjoy the new BBM 5.

i really like the upgrade it added lots of features that make it a lot easier to use the interface is better all around i would say the additional features made the DL and all the trouble of installing it worth it.

it's a little too technical for me and i've having the same problem, my bbm got wiped trying to upgrade it
