Default Best Twitter Clients?

Please Login to Remove!

OK, So I'm sure we beat this horse to death, but so many new apps are out and about.

So, I'm looking for a good Twitter client that won't take 20 years to update my timelines and doesn't kill my battery. I've tried TwitterBerry (too cumbersome to see all your relevant timeline) and UberTwitter (just too slow and no TwitPic integration).

Personally, I would love to try out YATC - but it's 4.6+ only, and I've got a Curve 8330 which is trapped at 4.5.

What do you use and why? [And let's not discuss SocialScope because no one can seem to get their hands on an invite anymore nowadays, so that's pretty worthless no matter how awesome anyone says it is...]

you said you cant use YATCA anyway, but its an annoying app that integrates with your messages icon and you have to go into that and view folders then the YATCA folder to view tweets, but to tweet yourself, you click the icon. its stupid.

Im on twitterberry after trying out ubertwitter.

there is twitbreeze from app world, and tweetgenius which is apparently good but is not free.
there is also blackbird, but interface isnt the best looking.

I am using SocialScope, but it's in private beta testing at this point. The next best IMO is UberTwitter. Their most recent release has really improved the battery requirements and it no longer sucks your battery dry.

One more to watch for is called Tweeteev. They are due out with their initial release "early" this week (not sure what that means)... but it has a very slick looking interface and is supposed to revolutionize twitter on the BlackBerry. Man, I love vaporware press releases But check it out at Tweeteev - Disruptive Blackberry client for Twitter and Tweeteev Screenshots – Upcoming “Disruptive” BlackBerry Twitter Client | BerryReview.com

I use ubertwitter and would like to repeat fonejunkie in saying that their latest release did drastically reduce the battery drain and increased the speed. If you require twitpic, I would suggest adding your twitpic email address to your address book and email them pictures as needed.

Welcome Computerworld. I agree with what everything you said above. If you havent used Social Scope you will be impressed once it becomes available to all.

Tweeteev just tweeted the following:

Quote:
Hi guys, we have to rework entirely the GPS features, using the Cell Towers, so even non GPS equipped devices can work #tweeteev #blackberry
and

Quote:
To be 100% transparent with you guys, I am waiting for a new release tomorrow or tuesday max, I will make decisions to release it from there
Looks like there may be a delay with its release... (fingers crossed)...

.
I will have to correct on this one. YATCA does integrate the tweets with your message folder but has a separate icon. You can also select whether to merge the tweets in the inbox or keep them in a separate folder (as you stated in your post).

Finally, to update your status all you have to do is hit the menu button and select update YATCA status.

I have tried social scope and ubertwitter, but I love YATCA just because it integrates the tweets with the messages.
