I had the same problem and from searching this site discovered that it was because I was not using the built in MS drivers, but rather the drivers that came with my bluetooth adapter. When I followed the directions in the sticky to use the standard drivers, I was able to configure Desktop Manager.

Thanks 2ndHalfCor. That wooshing sound was this thread taking off and going over my head!

I've had a look at the drivers installed on my laptop and there are 5 (i had a tech disnstall Windows Vista and install Windows XP Pro when i bought this last laptop).

I reckon thre are 4 too many!

They are:
Bluetooth RFBNEP
Bluetooth RFBUS
Bluetooth RFCOMM
Bluetooth RFHID
Bluetooth USB Controller-6 from TOSHIBA

Any ideas on which ones to disinstall, and am I on the right track here?

Not sure where those drivers are listed, but go into System and then the hardware manager under Control Panel and remove the bluetooth hardware. Oh remove any software that came with the bluetooth hardware first since that has the hardware manufacturer's driver.

Then install the hardware and it should install using MS drivers.

Or maybe install the manufacturer's software and try upgrading the bluetooth driver. It might install without having to remove the device first.
