Default Sweat From Face and Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Question?

Is sweat from your face just as bad as water for a blackberry? I made the mistake of talking on my bold after an intense gym workout, and right afterward it's starting acting up (keys not responding, screen excessively bright, running slow etc.) After and hour or so everything went back to normal? did I cause permanent damage? Has this happened to anyone else ?

Wirelessly posted (MY 8900)

Water is water unfortunately. However, if you were paying for insurance, how is the time to cash in before ut gets worse.

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

agreed. The device does not discriminate over different types of moisture

the bold seems to be way more sensitive to moisture than any other blackberry I have ever owned.

I wiped the screen with a moist towel and for hours the keys were acting crazy. Press an h and hy, press the p and get pl....

It did eventually go back to normal in a few hours.

Similar to my issues, but everything seems to be back to normal now - hopefully it stays that way. Thanks for the responses

It's just my opinion but I think it's related to the trackball. It offers an opening to the circuit board and one large drop of water is all it takes. I think of the sweaty face (cringe) and the ball touches the sweat, sweat gets it wet and then movement rotates it down right on the circuit board over and over as you move and talk.

Ick.

Good Luck!

As they said above water is water.... Steam however is the worst.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PHONE IN THE BATHROOM WHILE YOU TAKE A HOT SHOWER!

He steam will get inside and then condensate to water.

Fried phone!

Just a peice of advise.
