Default 7230 507 Error!!!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi - new to this and the replies seem the best source of info. I have a 7230 that developed a 507 error overnight. I have connected to laptop and run DM but the error says no handheld system software installed when i run app loader. DM can see the device and I get the screens on the 7230 hinting at communication.... HELP!!! Many Thanks in advance.

507 indicates that there is no OS, or that it can't be found.

You will need to download the latest version of the handheld operating system from your carrier. Execute the download and then start desktop manager.

I hope you have a backup if there was data you needed it.... Sorry

Hi - thanks a million, this worked great - got the software from o2 site and it worked, however.... It's v3.7 without BES activate options - apparently I need v4 of desktop software which is not around for o2 (or not on their website???)

Can you help me out - Thanks

Download and install the software for the t-mobile 7230 and search your hard drive for vendor.xml It should be somewhere in your program files folder under something research in motion related.

Delete the vendor.xml file and run the desktop manager again. It will upgrade the software to 4.0

Default twisted Error 507

My 7510 blackberry all of a sudden stopped to charge the battery and the indicator stopped to appear. I was almost 100% sure that the battery was bad, so I bought a new one. The same problem continued. I thought that maybe it was a software problem cause lately the blackberry sofware was slow and crashing. With all of this going on, I could intellisync with my computer (the computer could detect the blackberry). I decided to install again the blackberry software hopping that everything would be ok. Now:
* The blackberry has the error 507
* The computer does not recognize the blackberry (It does not detect). Once I go to connection settings and ask to detect on USB, it says: "Handheld not found"

I've tried to remove the desktop manager as well the handheld software and reinstall again with both versions 3.7 and 4.0. The program just can't detect the device.
I also tried to delete the vendor.xlm file and nothing happens.
What should I do?

Did you download the software from NEXTEL?

Default Sprint 7250 Error 507

I started with an error 348 last night. Called Sprint, they said to download OS, so I did and I tried running it, but it couldn't recognize the handheld. This morning I woke up to Error 507. Any thoughts?

507 means the same thing - there is no OS.
Make sure the USB cable is not going through a hub and is direct to the PC.

You must reinstall the handheld OS.

My 7290 will not power up. When you press the power button, nothing happens on the screen, but the red indicator light flashes. Any suggestions?

If you connect your device to the PC, does it detect it?

Thank you for your information. You mentioned to not hooK the USB to a hub which is exactly what I had done. Thanks to you my BB is fine now.
