Default Question About Memory Leak/Voice Dialing

Please Login to Remove!

Ever since I upgraded to 4.5.0.138, my VZW 8830 seems to run very slow (lags horribly), and runs down to zero memory in no time, even after a battery pull. Voice activated dialing won't work because there isn't enough memory for it to work.

For app's I have Viigo, sudoku, ESPN, e-trade, pandora, BB maps, googles maps, and a couple of others. I really had no problems at all until the OS upgrade. I have purged all of the e-mails so there are none of those hogging up memory.

Do you have Docs2Go on it? That chews up a chunk of memory. I noticed that the memory leak seemed to get worse if I started with under 11 mb of free memory after a battery pull, What do you start with? I had to delete Docs2Go to have sufficient memory to keep the leak at bay.

I'm pretty sure Viigo and e_trade pull data continuously...that could be part of yoru memory loss. My issue is yahoo and gtalk...if I turn them off I have no memory issues even with DocToGo loaded.

Smile Try this...

Clearing the Blackberry logs on a few of my users' phones helped with speed tremendously. Hopefully its not too late!

hold down the "Alt" key, while holding it down, click on "L", "G", "L", "G".

this should bring up the log viewer. click on the menu and clear log. After a while the log hogs up all kinds of memory. You should see a difference in speed immediately.
hope it helps.

Upgrade to 4.5.0.160, it over all seems better then .138 in my experience.
