why would you use 8900 to tether? It doesn't have 3g.... I can't imagine how crappy the performance would be over EDGE.

Because the use of the internet is better than no internet. You must not travel much.

Yes, it's working just fine. Follow the instructions for setting up old 8300 Curve to tether with Macbook Pro. Assuming you're using Leopard, tethering works with 8900 Curve without any changes

Heh, I will admit that you do make a good point! However, I use my 3G card while I'm out and about. :D
