Default Here is my detailed steps to fixing my Calendar and Address Book Issues

Please Login to Remove!

My setup two pcs, one at home, one at work. Home PC linked to Outlook PST, work PC is hooked up to a corporate Exchange Server (with a local C: drive pst?)

If anyone follows this, after my solution last week (post #55 above), syncing was working just great until I fussed with my Outlook Data on my Home PC and BB Device for the past few days and this somehow messed up syncing to my work pc- and Address Book AND Calendar changes on my home pc and device were NOT synching to work PC.

The following are steps I just took (March 23, 2009) to re-fix the issue (modeled after post #55 above)
===================

Assume
Master Data On Home PC

- Device (using Home PC Desktop Manager)
Clear BB Address Book
Clear BB Adress Book - All
Refresh

-Home PC
Sync Once way xxx8211; Outlook to BB
With xxx8216;erase all Targetxxx8221;

Home PC
Address Book 2205
Calendar 5227

Device
Address Book 2201
Calendar 279 (based on days before and days after filter)
Then processes 5241 Device Calendar (?why?)

Sync Two way

Device
Address Book 2201
Calendar 279 (based on days before and days after filter)
Then Confimation Window pops up with 22 changes, all seem to be Attendees!
ACCEPT these

Then processes 5241 Device Calendar (?why?)

Home PC
Address Book 2205
Calendar 5227

- Device (using Home PC Desktop Manager)
REBOOTED (battery pull or Alt + RightShift + DEL)

-Work PC
Delete All Contacts
Delete All Calendar

Wait some time (for possible server updates back to the Work PC)

Sync Once way xxx8211; BB to Outlook
With xxx8216;erase all Targetxxx8221;

Device
Address Book 2201
Calendar 279 (based on days before and days after filter)
Then processes Device Calendar (?why?)

Work PC
Address Book 2201 addition
Calendar 279 addtion

* LOTS (31) of Calendar reminders will pop up during sync (past due) xxx8211; let these go for now until AFTER total sync stops

After total sync stops, give time for Work PC to Sync with Server
When this Work PC-Server sync stops, Dismiss All (31) Reminders

Wait some time (for possible server updates back to the Work PC)

Refresh

Sync Two way (double check this setting for both Address Book and Calendar before starting)

Device
Address Book 2201
Calendar 279 (based on days before and days after filter)

Work PC
Address Book 2201
Calendar 279
***NOTE 22 conflicts (almost all based on Attendees), I selected option to xxx8220;update both Outlook and Device with highlighted field (the Attendees field on Work PC Outlook)
Then , Confimation Window pops up with 22 changes, all seem to be Attendees!
ACCEPT these
Refresh

-Home PC
Refresh

Sync Two way (double check this setting for both Address Book and Calendar before starting)

Device
Address Book 2201
Calendar 279 (based on days before and days after filter)

Home PC
Address Book 2205
Calendar 5227
Then Confimation Window pops up with 12 changes, all seem to be Attendees!
ACCEPT these

Nothing changed. Why?
Next time that happens and you think nothing has changes, click on the OPERATION category (change/add/delete). It should expand upon what was actually edited. Otherwise I would suggest trying to hit "refresh" after they tell something like 30 changes & 1 deletion.

Being a paranoid person I am, I have this setup up every so often to show all additions, edits, and deletes before proceeding (that is DM's default setting) just to ensure I verify things are working as expected.

So, after two tickets with BB, here is their answer - basically they are just NOW deciding synching between multiple PCs is not supported

Best practices for synchronizing your BlackBerry smartphone with multiple computers
Doc ID : KB18693
Last Modified : 06-29-2009
Document Type : Support

Overview
The synchronization component of BlackBerry Desktop Manager may display troubled behavior when synchronizing with multiple computers due to synchronization histories not being static between the different computers. Due to these conditions two-way synchronization is only supported with a single computer.

If you perform two-way synchronizations with multiple computers, it is possible that the changes may not be detected. If the configuration settings are then reset, duplication may occur depending on the changes that have been made to the information that was synchronized.

When requiring information to be distributed among multiple computers with a BlackBerry smartphone as the center point, the best practice is to choose a single computer to perform two-way synchronizations with and perform one-way synchronizations from the BlackBerry smartphone to all other computers to import the information from the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
