Question How to show more than two calendar entries for Today theme?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I just upgraded to the 4.5 OS for my BlackBerry Curve 8320. I even installed a few themes including Classy Corners Refresh:

Free 8300 Theme - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

Yet I still can't seem to have it show more than two calendar entries on the home screen for the Today version (even though it shows more than two in the screenshot). Is there a setting I need to modify, or how can I accomplish this?

Thanks much,
- Matt

No, I don't believe I ever did. I actually ended up not using the themes in the link as I couldn't find any I liked with customizable bottom buttons.

For what it's worth, I've heard that only OS 4.5+ is capable of more than 2 calendar entries. I've also heard it can depend on how the theme is created and what version of the theme creation software is being used.

Wirelessly posted

It is mainly dependant on how the theme is created. There are some themes that support more than 2 calender entries; you just have be patient and search around.

Apparently it is limited by the OS. 4.5 and greater allows you to have mare than 2. there are several with multiple calendar entries over at pimpmyberry

The one I created for my Curve has 6 entries showing, it all depends on how many the developer set it up to display. Mine is a custom Today/Zen theme that I created so it has my calendar and then 6 customizable icons along the bottom. Here is an old photo of the theme, I have changed the home screen picture since then and changed it to display 6 calendar entries. Will post the new one once I finish tweaking if you are interested.

Everything relating to the home screen is dependent on how the theme was designed by the author.

I would search the Media Forum, BBCollins created a cool new theme with multiple (5) calendar or messages on the Home Screen. http://www.blackberryforums.com/medi...dar-theme.html

I recently managed to get a pre-release version of the Windows7 Theme from Theme4bb. By far, some of the nicest customer service I've ever experienced... This theme currently shows 5 MESSAGE entries on the home screen but the author has gotten several requests for a calendar entry version of the same thing so this is what he's come up with...

I couldn't be happier!!

Since my last post, I've been able to find quite a few themes that do what I want. The trick is in finding a non-ugly theme (90% are that way) with the right home screen. After that, I can customize the background to my liking and the rest if history. Lately I've really been into a home screen with bottom buttons and messages/calendar section.

Here's the one I'm currently using. Shows more than two for calendar and messages.

Free 8300 Theme - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

I wasn't a fan of the color red, so I just changed the background to something less obvious.

EDIT: Yes, I realize it's the same link as my first post. Not sure why I didn't see more than two before. Perhaps the author has updated it since that time.

A little. But not as bad as some other themes I've tried. I've seen many a good theme ruined with bouncy icons or other useless time wasting effects. FYI, here are the themes I currently have installed:

* Obsidion Today Plus
* BeBold
* Black Mamba 83XX
* Carbon Fire Today+ 83xx (used this one for a long time)
* Classy Corners Refresh Today 4.5
* Horizon Wireless
* PMB-Blue Bold Calendar
* Red Ribbon-Today Plus
* Smokey
