O.K. I know how to do it one at a time, but I went and synced with my work computer and it loaded all 939 contacts on my blackberry 8330. I really don't need that many contacts. SO I need to get rid of about 800 contacts. And one by one is a real pain. Is there an easier way?
Do you have a backup from when you only had 139 on your device? If so, then you can use the the Advanced feature (under Backup/Restore in Desktop Manager) to clear the address book database.
Then you can open the backup file and restore the 139 back to your device.

I have restored the original 64 on it. Also went through my laptop and deleted 800 contacts, but for some reason it wants to add it back on my BB. Arrgg this is probably now an outlook problem. Thanks for the help on the restore. Now to find a way to just sync the both of them with the contacts in MS outlook. I can't find where outlook is hiding those other 800 contacts, it isn't in the address book as far as I can see.
In outlook, create a new pst file, this will be for the blackberry. Log out of outlook, and copy the original pst file and overwrite the new one with the old data. Log back in outlook with the new profile and trim the contacts in the new profile. The old profile will still have all 939 contacts but you won't be syncing with that profile anymore. Next, connect blackberry to computer/laptop and run DM. Go to backup/restore and backup the bb then clear the address book database. Go back to intellisync and do a one way sync from outlook to the bb from the new profile. Once that is done, change it to 2 way sync and you're good to go. When you need to find your regular contacts, just log out of the blackberry profile and log into your regular profile and you'll find your 939 contacts.
