Default bold not showing up as removeable drive

Please Login to Remove!

I've searched this for the past day on this and other boards and can't seem to find a fix.. I'm using windows xp and just installed the latest desktop software. The software reckognizes the device and the drivers appear to working correctly under the device manager however the device is not appearing as a removable drive in explorer. additionally i've got media card support on and mass storage support on with no encryption.

any suggestions would be appreciated..i'm just putting it out there that im not tech savvy enough to be working with registry files etc - my explanations above are about as tech as I get

Did you use certain illegal software to debrand or unlock your Bold?

In options-memory, do you have 'auto enable mass storage mode when connected' turned on?

Was this a new Bold? Or a Referb from Premier? We just got a Bold from AT&T off Premier and the USB ports were not visible on any of our machines. Sure enough... the USB batch file put the ports back on-line. We had not done any unlock or rebrand. Came directly from refurbishment like that. Look a the rebranding thread for information on the batch file.

I received a refurbished warranty unit that had the same problem. I used the batch file to fix. Not sure why AT&T is not catching this.

Interesting. I bought a refurbished Bold directly from AT&T for one of my secondary lines and it has this same problem.

UPDATE: Ok, I used the engineering screen to enable mass storage and it works now. This is odd that devices are shipping to customers like this. Wonder if there are other things that aren't set as they should be?

I found the link on another forum, unfortunately didn't work either. Maybe that fix doesnt work with newest os. Maybe just a bad apple from att
