Default Bold Bluetooth Connection Issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am looking to connect my BB Bold to my laptop via bluetooth. I have installed my Sitecom USB Bluetooth Dongle and connected it to my Bold.

Now here's where it gets confusing. If I initiate the pairing from the BB to the laptop, it pairs (according to the Bold) however if I initiate the pairing from the laptop to the Bold, the laptop tells me it's paired but the Bold have a white screen with "Connecting To Desktop..." on it. It's been like that for about ten minutes.

Second point is, the Blackberry Desktop Manager still has the Bluetooth option greyed out eventhough I have installed my bluetooth adapter.

Can anyone help with either of these two options?

Andy

If this helps, when I'm setting up the connection, I have two choices....

BlackBerry Desktop Service
BlackBerry Bypass Service

...which should I be using?

It doesn't support it?

I was reading that it desn't support 3rd party drivers so my Sitecom dongle (which is supported by Toshiba) but I didn't think it wasn't supported?

Most of the features of DM like upgrade OS, and add/remove applications, syncing and backup will tell you to use usb so it has a wired, uninteruptable connection.
The only thing it will let you do via bluetooth is use the media manager to transfer files.
