I'm having similar problems. The odd thing is I was able to see the "local" books before I exited the program. I've loaded them both directly to the SD card as well as using Audible Manager to load them to the Music/Audible file. Now nothing is appearing on that screen and I only have an option to download or stream in My Library.

I'm on BIS so the BES isn't an issue.

Any ideas on how to get the player to recognize local books? I've uninstalled and reinstalled (now version 1.1.1, Modules: Audible$2dPearl8100

Downloaded and installed the latest version of beta again, and can see the local subscriptions now. Still can't download any books or subscriptions though.

The two products can coexist on the device. AudibleAir and Audible

There may be two issues here. I want to make sure I understand the problem. Is it that it doesn't recognize the local books at all even within My Library or that it doesn't show them within the local books screen? You should still be able to access your local books through My Library. Obviously, it is a little more scrolling, but they should be there.

What happens when you remove your Desktop [IPPP] service book? Can you download then?

Does your web browser work when the Desktop [IPPP] service book is removed?

The only way they're appearing in my library is as "steaming" or "download" While they're on the SD card, they're not appearing.

Yes - they're in \music\audible

I just decided to try something to see if it would work. I uninstalled the Beta. Kept AudibleAir and started to play one of the books on the SD card.

I then reinstalled 1.1.1.

Now the books appear in both "My Library" (with both the play and garbage can icon showing) and in my local audiobooks.

Did it create a POS file in the directory to correspond with the .aa files? I really don't understand the "looking for books" logic the new code is using. It doesn't make logical sense to me, but all I have to go on are the ramblings of the log file. It could make perfect sense in code.

The only thing created following installation of the beta was a .dat file. The .aa file was previously there. The problem I seem to have found is for 'new' books being side-loaded. I'll play more with this later, but books loaded when AudibleAir was the only player seem to appear. Books loaded after I installed the beta don't show.

Just go into service books, press menu and choose undelete when you want your BES data connection back.

I can no longer update the top post. I have asked the mods to allow it again. In the meantime, M3 alpha came out the other day. I doubt it will be a beta candidate. I'm guessing M4 or M5 for that. Mostly it is a collection of UI improvements. However, I have noticed that the pops/skips from the player are almost non-existent now.

Excellent, for the first time since moving to 1.1.1M2 last night I had a section of a book that started skipping several minutes. Hopefully they're getting all the playback issues hammered out.

For those of you having trouble with the player identifying downloaded books, audible has recommended that you use the audible desktop client (AM) to transfer the books to the device instead of just copying them via explorer. There is a plugin for most BlackBerry devices with the exception of the Bold and Storm.

I tried it both ways when I couldn't see the beta couldn't see the local audio books. The only way I found to see the local books recognized on my phone was to play them first in AudibleAir.

Next time I transfer a book to my daughter's 8100, I will give it a try.

Default New to the thread

Interested in trying this ver on my 8830. Currently using 1.0.7 with mixed success. Biggest gripes:
) Slow to jump back, rewind, or fast forward.
) No bluetooth support.
) Bookmarks aren't shareable

Default Where can we get the "Public Beta"?

I don't see any links for the Public Beta. Is that closed as well? I got an email from Audible support that release was eminent(sp).
