Please Login to Remove!

So this will be my first post so please be nice. lol

I wanted to start this topic to list a few things that I would like my Pearl to do not sure if they are all possible but if you know how to do them please let me know. Also please post what things you would like the Pearl to do.

1. I would like to get talk radio on my pearl
2. I would like to watch You-tube
3. View HTML Emails and web pages not just code
4. Play music but not song by song

I am sure their are more things but that's it for now. Don't forget to post the things you would want also.

Welcome to the forum.

You can accomplish # 2 and #3 by upgrading your OS.

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...languages.html

There are 3rd party apps for internet radio. Do a forum search and you will find them.
I don't understand what you mean by # 4.

Perfect I downloaded this last night took over 1 hour but well worth the time. If anyone else wants this make sure you back up you phone before you download that way you wont loose anything.

For talk radio (or any radio, for that matter), if the station provides an internet mp3 stream, I'd recommend BerryTunes.

There's a week free trial, about $19 at Mobile Software and Games for your PDA or Smartphone : Handango w/coupon

You can download the trial at:

BerryTunes 2.5

Also does podcasts, and will play MP3s as well if you like (but the Pearl's built in player is better at that, IMHO).

The strength of BerryTunes is in it's ability to stream internet radio and podcasts smoothly and without breaks/skips.

I've tried every streaming tool available for the Pearl that I could find, and Berrytunes is the best at providing a steady stream w/out skips and connection issues. They have just releases a new version - 2.5.7.

Is this thread dead? Can I resurrect it? Well, I'm gonna!

I have a couple of comments re the above-
-regarding youtube - I have upgraded to the latest os and get this message when I try and watch a video - "an error has occurred attempting to play media" - ?
-berrytunes is good, but not quite skip free. moodio seems to get good reviews, but I get the same error message as above when trying to stream stations - ?

These two functions working flawlessly would go a long way to making the pearl 8100 better for me - at least until I can afford an upgrade, lol.

Are you going to the youtube mobile site? m.youtube.com. Also, not all of the videos on youtube will play on your device.

Yep, that's where I'm going. Although I haven't tried a huge amount of different vids, all of them return the same error. I have managed to save some to the phone's memory and play them offline with some success. Maybe a browser issue?

Do you think the errors relating to streaming media are related? Lol, that sounds screwed up but I mean from youtube and moodio ?

I'm wondering if these errors are related to the fact I don't have a media card? Am I running out of memory?

Yeah I've been doing that, it looks like I've got about 14992954 bytes free. 15Mb right? Should be enough?

The Pearl 8110 has GPS and external card slot. The GPS is nothing to write home about though.

Can you please elaborate on that? Im using a bluetooth puck with my 8100, works perfectly with google maps and nav4all. But i was thinkin about pickin up an unlocked 8110 if i could find one cheap so i wouldnt have to carry around the external puck.

Oh on a side note, for streaking radio i use, Nobex Radio Companion.

I live in a city with small buildings, none is taller than 10 or 15 floors. Still, I have never been able to get satellite signal anywhere except on the beach, nearly walking into the ocean. So that's what I have, a GPS unit that only works on the beach or (I suppose) any other ridiculously wide open space. Not in the city. Pretty useless IMO.
