I just called to order mine the same way.. The best price I got was 429, with a 2 yr. extension. (I just pulled the trigger in October for the 83290, which I hated, but didn't return).
I also told them I was thinking about going to ATT because of 3G, and they explained that they have 3G phones available, but I told them that I need a business class phone with push email technology.
They didn't offer me a $100 MIR either..
I'm going to try again...

Who has ordered one with no contract extension? What is the actual price with no contract stuff? I recently extended my contract on an upgrade, so I don't want to extend it any more - but I REALLY want this ![Smiley](http://www.blackberryforums.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Every phone I ever received from any carrier for me has always required a signature, new phone, upgrade etc...but that's me. or maybe my local UPS driver don't like me haha ![Embarassed](http://www.blackberryforums.com/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif) lol but I've received from Fedex too so I dunno..

for that money, you could get a storm, unlock it, and use it on tmo just as well as the 8900.

rebate question
If i purchase the phone through an upgrade on my current line and later give the phone away, will that void the rebate?

Not a Verizon storm, though. They don't use SIM cards. Right?

It doesn't matter what you do with the phone, as long as you keep paying for the service. Like a few people have stated, a data plan is required. After you spend the rebate, I'm pretty sure you can do whatever you want.

I think you're OK as long as the $100 tmob rebate is the only one you get. If you got the phone through a 3rd party like Amazon and they gave you another rebate and you disconnect the phone from your line withing 6 months then your CC would be billed for whatever rebate Amazon gave you. But if it's just a Tmob rebate you should be OK, you just have to fulfill your 2 year contract is all.

this is not correct. the verizon storm is a world phone, it's got a removable SIM card in it.
i bought a new one on ebay for 390, just waiting on delivery.
once unlocked, you can use it with any carrier in the world. problem is, north america has an 'arse backwards' frequency system for 3G. call it a business tactic, 3G frequencies here in the states (1700/1900 MHz) don't coincide with 3G frequencies overseas (2100 MHz)....so don't hope for 3G coverage with at&t or tmo here in the US with a storm 9500 or 9530, wait for a carrier based version on the carrier of your choice.

I went to a T-Mobile store last week, and they are reserving one for me and I will pick it up tomorrow. They must be pretty low, as they told me they are only getting 10 units in tomorrow. They told me all the pricing is the same as online ($199 after rebate), but obviously no shipping costs.
Is there any downside to getting the phone through a store? Seems like a good deal.
