Default Send Address From Browser Not Working

Please Login to Remove!

I have an 8320 on OS 4.2 on TMO on a BES When I try to "Send Address" from the internet browser, the popup comes up asking "email, MMS, PIN, or SMS Test", I select "email" and it populates a blank email with the link. Except there is no "send" option in the email menu. I can save as draft, but no send. I'm on a BES and have a yahoo and TMO email account as well. And normally, I can scroll up in the email to the very top and select the "service" I want to use when composing an email. That doesn't appear when I'm trying to send a page address. It's like there is no default email service when sending from the browser...and you can't change it and so it doesn't have any service to use and won't send. I've tried email options, but can't see anything that allows me to select the service. Very strange. I used to be able to, but can't remember when it changed. So what I do is copy the page address and then switch over to email, compose, and paste the link in. But obviously many more steps!

Hi,

When you don't see a "send" option, is that before you've chosen a recipient? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but there are times when I have used the send address function or have tried to forward a message or have hit "forward as" on a text to send it as an email or pin (or a pin as an email, whatever) and then I go to send it and *oops* I forgot that I haven't yet chosen a recipient. And that's why there's no "send" option...

Hope that helps.

Hmm...I don't know about this one. What actually shows up as the "send using" option?

Yes, even after selecting an address, there is no service at the top or send option. I've tried other Berries of people at work and their's don't work either. I'm now on OS4.5 and still doesn't work.

So this actually works for people? ...that is doing a 'send address' as an email from the internet browser?

Options, Advance, Defaults are all set to "Desktop"...hmmm...tried again, picking a send to address. Only Save Draft is listed in menu....add cc, add bcc, etc. But no "send".

Are you using desktop redirector? Is it running or not? That's the problem right there.

We are all OTA at our company...we don't use DM or redirector. I changed the default messaging to my yahoo service but that didn't change anything. Maybe it's just our BES configuration...like it said I tried it on a co-worker's pearl and another's 8830 and neither worked. I'll have to ask my BES admin if theirs work.

Aha! I'd wager its the IT policy being pushed to your devices from BES. Your IT admin may have configured it incorrectly.
