Thumbs down Roll Back Google Maps 3.0

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know if there is a way to roll back Google Maps 3.0 to Ver 2.3.2? Does someone have a clean copy of 2.3.2 perhaps? I don't like the new version and would rather stick to the older one. Thanks 73

Red face Thank You

@ MrKyoo: Thank you for the link. I was very disappointed with the performance and interface of 3.0 I owe you one. 73

UPDATE: Well, it was a good idea. I tried that link but all I got was a 404 Error. I also tried the link in my laptop browser and you can't download it there either. Thanks anyway. 73

I haven't had any issues with 3.0. Find it actually a lot better than 2.3.2.

You need the entire link. If you highlighted - copied - then the link will be broken.

Google Maps will not work with the aGPS found on the Verizon 9530. Google claims it A Verizon problem. It isn't. Other 3rd party gps proggies work. Proof is on other posts. If needed, I will post here. But google just doesn't get it..It works on other carriers such as rogers and vodaphone on the 9500.
The Gps chip is unlocked.GPS uses the satellites..aGPS uses the towers to triangulate. If Google would program their maps to use the satellites then it will work..Its a programming blunder from Google.

Mine has not worked properly since 2.2.3. I would like to roll-back to that version to use my external BT puck which worked well but has not worked since 2.3.2 without some of the work-arounds for VZW users.

Found it for us 8330 users. Works with the BT puck. Don't need the fancy stuff anyways ...

If you think about it, it may not be a programming blunder. Maybe Google intentionally disabled external BT support on VZW devices since 2.2.3 since I don't believe that they omitted a fair amount of code during the 'upgrade'. maybe a lawsuit was threatened by VZW for Google circumventing their 'economic security'? But then again, who knows ...

I just turned off that Latitude feature. Damn thing was draining my battery. Went from full charge at 7am to out of power at 3pm today. My storm without it lasted well into the next day on a full charge. Other than that the new version is working fine for me.

Just not my day. When I tried earlier with the browser on my laptop, I just clicked the link. That would get the whole string. Now, I copied the exact string as shown on the bottom of the browser and on the Storm I still get a 404. Thoughts? 73

Lightbulb Persistence Pays

By combining the advice of MrKyoo and PShift, I got 2.3.2 installed successfully. Thanks. 73

That would be incorrect. I have a 9530 on att and GPS works fine will all versions of Google maps that i have had. It is verizon problem and this has been throughly discused. So im not sure what proof you have in other post, unless your refering to the other 3rd party apps and can use it.

Google Maps drains the battery if left running in the background, even if you don't use Latitude. Always has since they added the cell tower triangulation.
