Yup, it works ... documentation ... not so much. I know MS has docs on how to mirror a sql database; that'd be your best place to start. Sorry I don't have any handy.

My environment is making the transition from Sql 2000 to 2005 and the option of DB Mirroring has been brought up.

Is this officially supported by RIM? I cannot find any documentation from RIM on this subject and prefer to keep the environment inline with RIM specs for production.

Doesn't the Help documentation for SQL 2005 say that SQL 2005's mirroring feature is not supported by MS in production environments and is for training puropses only?

Is that just an error in the documentation (it seems strange that someone would ship a product and limit it like that).

If not, has their support policy on the feature changed?

I'm running it in our environment. It works. It's not officially supported by RIM, but I've had their support folks tell me it works without problems as well. We'd failed over our cluster several times now without problems. There's a small hiccup with the dispatcher and the alert service will notify you, but it picks right back up.
