Default DVD movies onto Storm

Please Login to Remove!

For DVDs that I own -- what's the best way to get them onto my Storm?

For viewing while traveling, for the kids in the car, etc.

Thank you so much for your help/suggestions -- went from the Curve to the Storm and absolutely love it!!!

You need to "rip" them first.

This involves a decoder program and a ripper

I use AnyDVD and CloneDVD, however, they are pay programs. I know there are free ones out there.

You need to rip the files to DVD/VOB I believe,

Then you use handbrake to convert it to mp4/m4v

Total time for one movie for me is about 2-3 hours

There have been quite a few threads on this topic... one free program that I've tried and really like is Handbrake (HandBrake). Do a search here (and on google) on Handbrake and you should be able to find some good settings others have used to rip video for playing on the Storm using Handbrake.

AnyDVD/CloneDVD takes about 45-60min, it's handbrake that makes it 3

I use 2 pass encoding on Handbrake that means 1hr x 2

On handbrake, I use the iphone/itouch setting

There are so many ways to do this. I've tried almost all of them. I finally decided to purchase the correct software: iSofter DVDPlatinum. It cost $30, but it is very configurable and rips just about to EVERY format and size.

I've ripped about 50 DVD's so far... it's easy, and for me, it's my preference.
