Default 6230 Upgrade Error Message

I recently bought a 6220/6230 (not sure if they are the same) on ebay and would like to upgrade to os 4.0. I found lots of guides on this thread and all seemed to go well until I got the error message "Blackberry Core 4.0 Some files are Missing". This happens after I plug the device into the computer, I click upgrade now and the applications loader screen comes up. I hit next and the error pops up. This unit is an AT&T wireless 6230. I have downloaded the OS 4.0 upgrade from the list found at the beginning of this thread as well as the desktop manager. The current software version on the unit is 3.6.0.51. I have tried to search for this error but nothing came up. I have deleted the vendor.xml file and still no luck. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Update: I have got it to work. It turns out I have a 6210. So I downloaded the 6200 upgrade from Cingular/AT&T and it worked 100%.

This seems to be the latest 7290 OS. The platform is the same as Cingular but the apps version is higher. Does it matter that Telstra is CDMA and I am on Cingular? If i delete the vendor.xml, will it work? Wonder if there is any value in doing it?

Thanks

All 7290's are GSM. If Telstra is selling a 7290 then they are using a GSM network somewhere.

4.0.2.86 hmm

Maybe this could fix the problems some people have reported with grey boxes appearing or problems with call timers.

Default 4.0.2.49 experiences on Vodafone UK

I'm planning to upgrade from v4.0.0.234 (installed when I received the device), and wondered if anyone on Vodafone UK had any advice/warnings before I proceed. Is it worth the change? In particular, does it improve volume on Bluetooth headsets as some report?

Any feedback much appreciated.

All 4.0.2 releases improve the bluetooth volume.
4.0.2 also features a much better calculator.

Problems with upgraded 4.0 on BB 7520.

I upgraded the software on 10/31/05, and i'm not getting the Interner Browser, just the old NOL. I was on the phone with Nextel's tech support and she had me go threw resetting service book, security master radio reset, taking battery out and resetting, and Host Routing Table few times during today. Tech said to give it 24 hours, but it looks like others arnt having this delay issue.

What other settings can I adjust?
Should I take it to a Nextel/Sprint store to try to upgrade it?
I've been paying for insurance on it since I bought it in March, should I make a claim and try a new 7520?
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks,

Dave

The only way is to send it down using the web based e-mail client.

The only thing on the O2 site is 3.7
http://www.my-blackberryfromo2.com/d..._A3.7.1.21.exe

You'll have to download Cingular and delete the vendor.xml file.

Sorry, I think you're confused. None of the carriers have 4.1 as far as I can see yet. (Except for 8700 and 7100i)
