Default Is the Chrome Cradle damaging the 9530?

Any Storm owners use the Chrome docking cradle for the alarm clock function? My current storm is being sent back for reboot issues but I also notice my USB port is loose (it wiggles) and when I put my fingers over that area to hold the phone and slightly press on it the housing depresses and creaks like a early model 8800. I was wondering if the cradle is causing the USB to loosen. Anyone else have this issue on their device?

I have the docking cradle, and I haven't had any issues with mine. I love it I use it to sync with my pc, and use it by the bed for the clock. good luck!

I love it too for the bedside function, I've since unplugged my alarm clock, just wondering if the USB port issue is happening to anyone else and if the charger can be attributed to it or ruled out.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 11000 Colosol)

The new gen BB charger is problematic to say the least. Other devices that use this port have many charging issues. They break very easy. Its def an issue

Should I not put my replacement storm on the dock?

No problems so far. I've had my Storm from day one, but just started using the cradle a few days ago.

The phone slides into the cradle with almost no effort, so I'm not so sure it could be doing any harm to the connector [inserting the connector on the charger that came in the box requires a good bit more effort].

I have been using the chrome cradle on my bedside table since day one (30 days ago), and not seen any looseness in the usb port. Good luck.

Just have to be gentle when putting it on the cradle. The micro USB is taking all the force when placing the unit and if you push down too quickly you could be at a slight angle. This could triple the downward force causing it to overstress the plastic. Once something becomes routine our muscle memory tells our brain it knows what to do so we all tend to relax and not think about the task. I say go ahead and use the cradle on the replacement phone but treat it with kit gloves.

I just had my second chrome cradle (pod) fail. My first one was DOA, so I brought home my pod from work, only to have it fail two days later - I went to grab my BB the next morning and the battery was drained.

Looks like I need to return them both!
