Default Gmail Setup

Please Login to Remove!

New to BB... Got my Storm last night and I am trying to get my gmail setup on it.

I have tried adding it 3 ways and none have worked.

1. went to email setup, selected gmail, put in my username and pass, wouldnt connect

2. went to email setup, selected gmail, put in correct email and no password. It won't let me past the screen without one. Put in wrong password. It now lets me pass but I just get the error that it can't configure it and I have no option to say let me input my settings.

3. went to email setup, selected other, put in wrong username/pass, selected I will input my credentials. I added my gmail settings and this also would not connect.

Keep getting unable to add your account.

Any ideas?

Thanks

You have to go in to your G Mail settings first and select "Allow Pop 3 forwarding" or something like that, and then go back and set the email up on your phone. I had no trouble setting it up on my Storm but that's because I had already set up on my last phone.

I use IMAP with Gmail and it works great

PS - I did disable POP in my Gmail settings to make sure it would use IMAP.

Also, one more tip for anyone using IMAP with Gmail. In Gmail settings, go to the Labs tab and enable Advanced IMAP Controls. Then go back to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab and you'll see some more configuration options under the IMAP section. (see screenshot)

Another noobie to BB. Have the Storm and was wandering if you can set up multiple email accounts. Also, my primary gmail interface is my laptop via Outlook. How will the BB affect this? In other words, will emails not show up in Outlook if read on the BB or the other way around?

You can have up to ten separate email accounts.
