Thumbs down Blackberry maps & GPS frustrating!?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I have an 8320 with OS 4.5.0.81.
I have a Freedom 200 keychain bluetooth GPS.
I have no problem getting the GPS co ordinates from options -> advanced -> GPS.
I have no problems getting google maps to work with the GPS.

However when it comes to Blackberry Maps talking to the GPS that is another story!
It is so unreliable! Sometimes it just refuses to talk to the GPS, the rest of the time it says "searching for satellites...." What the hell is going on with this?

There is a small application I am using which hooks in to blackberry maps somehow and uses the menu from within blackberry maps to allow me to check in to a social networking site called Brightkite.
90% of the time its not possible to do this due to the face that blackberry maps still cannot determine where I am?

Anybody else had these problems?

Thanks

Mike

Yup. That's why I don't bother with it and don't recommend it. Google Maps is a much better app but it probably won't work with the app that hooks BB Maps into Brightkite.

Yes thats the problem. The application has been programmed to use the built in maps/gps integration.

Oh well
Guess I could break all my rules and head down the iPhone 3g route :(
