Exclamation Battery power on Storm

Please Login to Remove!

My battery on the Storm seems to drain very, very quickly. I never had this problem on my Curve. Is anyone else having this issue? I thought this might be due to the device constantly requesting information, but this doesn't seem to be happening? Any ideas?

check how many programs you have running in the memory, that will drain it faster, in general i usually close them on exit, and try turning off bluetooth if its on, so at least you will have an idea whats killing your battery.

Well after using my Storm and training the battery my usage has not changed. I reduced the logical options and a little bit better. Finally I now turn off the Bluetooth radio when it is not in use. The battery time has improved. Before I was a BB user I had the Moto Q which had the same issues. They did a firm ware upgrade that improved the issues.

You may also try reducing the % of the backlighting

I've reduced by backlight to 10% and in all honesty you can't see a huge difference but it def improves battery life.

Like the other posters state, turning off bluetooth and making sure no other app's are running is the best way.

I carry an extra battery. Always have for the BB's. Just in case. Got mine for the Storm yesterday. I see where there is a stronger 1600mh size at Seido On Line for ~$44. I paid $40 for the one OEM. Now I want to find an external charger for the battery... Does anyone know of such?
Thanks

My tweaks to conserve battery / gain battery

turn the screen brightness down to the 10
turn the backlight timeout to the lowest setting that works for you - 45sec
turn off the LED coverage light
Enable the Auto On/Off feature for when you don't use the device (mid - 6am)
Mobile Network - change Network Technology to 1XEV

Application Center - turn off Auto Refresh List
Any 3rd party apps that update turn it to manual vs. schedule (World mate live, xberry etc)
Turn off Bluetooth when it's not needed

I don't make many calls a day and can get almost 2 days with these settings and moderate / heavy use of email. If you use browser / media expect to charge nightly.
