Default Bold LCD Damaged

Please Login to Remove!

I have no clue how, but today the LCD on my Bold got damaged. All I see is a white screen and some discoloration on the top. I am wondering how I can get the one year manufacturers warranty to replace the phone since I have the original receipt. I have never dropped the phone, or messed with the LCD in any way. It was -5 degrees out this morning, could the cold whether have something to do with it? Thanks.

humm Casue iam not sure would they replace for your under warranty if they saw the discoloration or you can jus order a replacement screen for your bold at cnn.cn (google it)

If there is no visual damage to the phone and the water stickers are still white, then they'll do a warranty replacement for you.

Even if the receipt is an invoice from being ordered online? And how do I go about getting the replacement? Do I have to call RIM?

Call T-Mobile. You have a 1 year warranty on it, no matter where it was purchased. T-Mobile should be able to process the replacement.

No... That's the problem... I bought it used but I have the original receipt. I am in the process of contacting the original owner of the phone because I am thinking I will need his help getting it replaced. He lives within 20 miles from me.

No tmobile will not cover the warranty if they don't carry the phone. if it was purchased from att then unlocked u can call their warranty department. however damage to the screen is kinda cut and dry most of the time they are gonna claim damage regardless. LCDs dont just pop randomly or thats what they will say...and if u have unlocked the phone and dont have an active number with the carrier ur got the phone they have no vested interest in helping u out.
sorry to be the ass but i think this will be the result of attempting to get it replaced

if there's a discoloration on the screen (like a point) that means there was pressure on that area, (by leaning on something while in ur pocket, or seat belt putting pressure against it) Thats usually considered physical damage.

Yeah, I am starting to think that I will just replace the LCD and maybe get a black bezel while I am at it.
