Same for me. When I ran the desktop app it would recognize that there was a newer OS version but whenever I would select it I would get a message saying I didn't need to upgrade.

Used the loader.exe and my install is now in progress....

No. DM 4.6 would work fine.

Arghh! This is the first time I've tried to do an OS upgrade from my new Vista 64-bit notebook and it doesn't see the new 4.5.0.110. I tried both DM 4.6 and 4.7 (even the Loader.exe) method and yes, I deleted the vendor.xml file...

I'm going to try to do it form my old XP notebook but has anyone had any problems with upgrading the BB OS from Vista?

My XP notebook loaded the .110 OS just fine. I have no idea why I can't do it from Vista.

Vista 64-bit sux. I had problems too, sometimes it would load sometimes it wouldn't. I have pretty much upgraded to the every new OS found on this forum and never had any problems with XP.

I am no fanboy but it seems to me that your Vista issue lies with how RIM is writing it's installers. I always have nightmares installing a new DM version even from XP. Their programmers seemed to be "install" challenged.

Great upgrade. My battery life is back to 2-3 days compared to 1 day with .102. A lot faster, too!

mine loaded up fine! you should follow installation instructions to the T. Try going into your control panel and delete any previous OS version from your Hard Drive. Then install the 110 (be sure to have DM closed while installing) then Delete Vendor file, plug in your BB and then open your desktop manager. It may not say its needing an upgrade but go into the upgrade section of DM and search for your OS. it may find it or it may not. But try the loader program if this doesnt work..other than that i have no clue friend

the loader program worked like a charm. felt like the easiest upgrade I've ever done.

been a whole hour since I upgraded so we will see, but have to say I've seen more speed and less hourglass. so far, so good.

do you need to delete the chinese ocd files or whatever it was that previous OS had that resulted in unusable icons?

I did not have to reset anything. I just upgraded using 4.5. Why not try resetting the connection? Maybe turn off then turn the connections back on?

The last few upgrades what seems to happen to me is the wifi connects a lot slower, and has more periods going to EDGE or SOS. Then over time it seems to stabilize and stay on UMA.

Try the standard battery pull and then entering the wifi password again.

I have had no issues at all since my upgrade on both of my 8320's, love the upgrade much faster. Have had no issues at all with my Wifi connection, once it rebooted after install picked up the WiFi and went straight to UMA. Great find, looking forward to seeing if this will help with the memory leak have had with previous 4.5 os'

Default Works Great

I updated last night from a Vista laptop with no problems! I'm new (5 days)to my 8320 so I can't say what improvements it provides.

Had it loaded for a few days and so far this is the best 4.5 OS to date for me. Very snappy response, UMA hook ups seem to be quicker and more reliable.

I'm using Viigo, but I have the old 2.2.82 version and it's not such a memory hog. I have it close when not in use and after 3 days of use I'm hovering around 10MB of memory free. Normally at a fresh boot I've got 14 or so MB free, not too shabby!
