Default Exchange alias

Please Login to Remove!

I did some searching and I'm finding a range of answers so some clarity would be appreciated.

Many of my users have alias's on their exchange mailboxes and email from each one flows into their inbox. For example "bob smith" has [email address] and [email address]. Some users have 4 or 5 different alias.

Will the BES forward each one to the device or just for the primary smtp address?

I can't seem to find a reliable answer that isn't 2 or 3 years old.

Thanks

Anything that goes into their Exchange mailbox will be forwarding to the device. The BES will look at the contents of the mailbox itself (not the to: address) to know what to send to the handheld.

I have 5 aliases and all email is sent to my BB just fine.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I found this on google because of a problem I am having now.

Did you have to do anything special to get the alias emails to come into the BB? I have multiple aliases setup for my account and can only receive email for whatever I have set as the default address in AD.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Do they arrive in mailbox? Any filters? Rules?

Yes -- email sent to all aliases is delivered to the mailbox. Only email that is set as default in AD is sent to the Blackberry, though. No rules, not sure what you mean by filters but I'm going to go ahead and say no to that as well...

Thanks.

in BB Manager get the properties of your account, select Filters, then examine the filter rules, particularly the 'Sent To' field.

Back in your user properties have a look at the number of filtered messages, send a test to one of your other addresses and see if the filtered message count goes up. If it does you know they are being filtered.
