I found the BlackBerry Maps application magically appeared after I installed the Facebook application.

make sure you on the step where Nanu writes "goes on HRT and press the menu button and then register", make sure you do it for BOTH of the first two options! I only did it for the first one and it didnt work.

Enjoy!

I am on Orange France, and have been struggling with Maps forever.

Almost considering changing providers (althoughI must admist I was satisfeid with Orange France if it were not for this stupid thing and their restrictive browser implementation).

After another attempt the BlackBerry Maps icon appeared for a while, but:

I was getting asll the time this error message:
Your device is not
configured for BIS or
BES access. Consult your
wireless service provider
or your system administrator.

After reinstalling the 4 email accounts I use, the Maps icon was still there, so was the error message.

I decided to resend the service books and as I supected... the Maps icon disappeared and the following message was displayed on my terminal.

Maps has been disabled!

I wornder how otehrs are doing with this, and if the same issue is appearing to others.

On the other hand, WLM has worked fine since the first try, and has not "suffered" from the successive Service Book sends.

Hello,

For maps to work, you should have a BB Bold functioning normally with BIS or BES working, AND THEN,
2- do exactly what is explained above
3- do NOT send the service books after you recreate your mail account, the service books are sent automatically when you re-create your account.

IF you resend your service books, the BBmap icon will disappear...
If you remove your SIM card from the phone, the icon will disappear...
and you will have to re-do all of the above.

check and see that your bold is functioning normally.
If there is an error message, resolve the error first from blackberry.orange.fr
and then follow the steps above exactly.

Hello,

I am on Orange France, have the BB maps installed on my device (BBmaps version 4.6.0), but can't acces it either and do not have the icon present. i don't know what BIS or BES is, sorry.
Does anyone know what I have to do to enable it?
re the solution from Nanu: I don't see the 234 UK [23403330] , but 208 FR [20800130] , in mu host routing tqble, does that matter or is the procedure the same?
I am a bit cautious in deleting all kinds of applications or accounts since I don't know what they do or what they are....

Thanks
jerome
