I installed this OS on my ATT 8310 without issues, I thought I might have issues with Google Maps, but from what I can tell everything is fine. Email looks so much nicer.

Default we have 2 bb's

we have 2 blackberry 8310 and have noticed only 2 problems with this new os.

First problem on both phones, The phone has been turning its self off every now and then when the phone is on lock. I think that problem is due to your still able to hold the power button down and turn it off even when phone is on lock and that is what is happening while it is in our pocket's

Second problem is only happening on one phone, every now and then when trying to end a push to talk call it starts my telenav and tries to search a city & state

anyone else having this problem or is law of average taking it course " the user " <smerk>

Upgraded Friday night. After I resent service books for email, things are copacetic. New looks to apps are clearer. Reformatted my 4G MC just to be safe. No probs yet...

Gotta new toy! Looking for apps to try!

Thanks for the great info y'all!

Just to confirm, you have an 8310 and downloaded the latest OS for the 8310, correct? Also, the version you got is newer than the OS on your phone? There were two sources for the latest version 108/4.5.0.81... they are the same - there is no upgrading from 108 to 108...

If you open DM and go to Help >About and go to the Device Software tab does it show 4.5.0.81 installed?

Then the vendor.xml file is likely still there. Look in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete it.

Then try running Loader.exe found in that same folder and see if it picks up the upgrade.

Have you tried reboots of both your computer and the BB? Did you, by chance, install the OS while the BB was connected? Is the vendor.xml file in the recycle bin? Maybe delete it from there, too.

If you run 64bit windows then vendor file will be in c:\program files (x86)\common files\research in motion\apploader

What works for me is run and Install the downloaded file into apploader, delete vendor.xml, reboot the machine then run desktop manager and then connect the blackberry.
