I have downloaded the software for the Yahoo IM. WHen i try to logon it says my handset service has not been enabled on this handset. My IT syas i have every option available and blackberry support cant help. Any suggestions??????

where did you download it from? I have downloaded it from the blackberry site and am on AT&T with an 8310 and YIM works fine for me.

have you tried sending service books? or have you checked to see that the App permissions are set to allow?

Do a search...there are 100 strings on this issue.

The thing is, everyone is trying to get the Yahoo version of Messenger working, but it is not worth it. AT&T does not allow it without messing around with things.

Some guy posted about the IM client available from Medianet. Go to your browser and follow the links for news and messaging (I think - I don't have my BB in front of me).

Download the free client and it support Yahoo. Works great on my Curve with 4.5.

This is the way I was able to download Yahoo. Go to blackberry.com/instantmessaging/ from your blackberry. Hope this helps.
