I was wondering how BeeJiveIM affects the battery life of the curve 8300 if I left it logged in all day, etc...

Very little. There is a battery saving mode you choose in the preferences.

So if left logged in, how long could the phone go for from a FULL charge? until the battery dies?

uhmmm,

Assuming you made no phone calls, received no phone calls, never checked the browser, no emails sent or received, no SMS sent or received, no additional third party applications running, NO other use of the device... fresh battery.

Probably a week. But that is only an estimate.

See I have a iphone now and don't like it anymore... for a number of reasons, most importantly is that I hate the keyboard as well the battery life is terrible on the iphone so I'm kind of excited to get back to using BeeJiveIM on the curve

Yeah the iphone battery for me lasted about half a day, that was from a full charge.... which in my opinion is terrible. As well things like lack of "push" email are terrible. I had BeeJiveIM for the iphone and it doesn't run in the background so you don't instant notifications when someone sends you a message, which is quite terrible. I don't have to wait to apple brings these needed features to the phone... I can just use the curve

No worries about the battery life dude! I'm always browsing wap sites, checking stocks via etrade mobile pro (the blackberry program) and always text 24/7 along with instant messaging on jive talk and I still have like 15% battery life after a 16 hour day
