volume issue here as well. it sucks because i use it as my "ghetto-blaster" when i take my little girl in her jogging stroller for morning walks. maybe the next release will correct this? surely programmers could see what the difference is.

Surely someone out there has come to some kind of answers on this topic by now ??? NO SOLUTIONS AT ALL ??? Someone with plentiful experience with BB's has seen these post's and knows now there is a difference in volumes between the OS's ???

As I understand it Chevyguy, it's a known issue at RIM and will be taken care of in a final release (which one they have yet to say). The current fix is to downgrade the last OS where the volume worked best for you.

And according to RIM, there is nothing on the user end that can be done, other than downgrading to the last version of the OS to "fix" the volume issue.

One thing that MIGHT help, is to change the battery back on the phone, to one that has an uncovered speaker, so that the higher freqs can be heared without having to go through plastic first. And there are third party replacement backs that do offer an open speacker hole. If it were me and it mattered that much, I'd at least opt for the battery door fix, over downgrading the OS, but that's me.

Sorry to say that isn't the case as of yet. You are correct about the fix. I am back at t-mos 4.2.2.18.
