Default Appointment deleted externally, etc

Please Login to Remove!

Hi- It's a long story, but I'm getting this message - "Appointment deleted externally. Changes will be lost and the viewer closed" To get to this spot, I upgraded to the latest Verizon version of the Desktop Manager and then I tried to add a new program. While it was adding the new program, somehow the Desktop Manager deleted most everything else. So I restored my last backup. All was well until I checked the calendar and I started getting this message.

I did some reading and I decided I would wipe the handheld from the options in the Blackberry. I did this and then I re-signed up with the network etc and I restored the 2nd to last backup. Still got this message. Next I tried clearing the Calendar database. I did this and restored and I still have my problem.

While I was looking at the screen to clear the calendar (backup and restore option from the desktop software-> advanced-> clear calendar database) I noticed that on the right side of the screen, under Device Databases I saw Calendar listed TWICE. The list goes Calendar, Calendar, Calendar - All, Calendar Options, etc. MY QUESTION is: Should Calendar be listed there twice?

Thanks to anyone who can answer my question or help me solve my problem!

By the way, I have the 8130 (Verizon)

Steve

Just spoke with RIM (Verizon patched me through). The answer to this problem is:

1- under options -> advanced options -> service book ->delete all email accounts with CICAL on them (not CMIME)
2- connect blackberry to computer with Desktop manager open
3- In Desktop Manager, Under backup and restore -> advanced options -> device databases (right side) -> clear "calendar all"
4- reboot device (battery pull)
5- (Still in advanced options screen on desktop manager) Under file (upper left) open a recent backup file. Highlight "calendar all" and then press the left to right arrow.
6- calendar items transfer from backup to device

Problem solved!
