Please Help me with my Bold issues
Please Login to Remove!
I've had my bold for a week now and am a complete newbie. I'm having some issues that I cannot resolve! I've phoned my service provider every day countless times, but they seem to be clueless and it is now just a waste of time as they tell me to do the same thing that the last one did and that didn't work! I'm begging to get very frustrated
Firstly my email will not push. I have two accounts setup and can send emails fine from both, but neither will receive email. I have done everything to try and get it to work but to no avail. I have no filters setup on the accounts. I have resent registration, soft re-set, hard re-set, re-sent service books, removed service books and re-sent and nothing works. To begin with I thought it was my hotmail plus account, so I added my gmail account and am having the same problem.
Second issue is if I soft re-set the device I occassionally get a java error and half of my icons disappear and i need to re-set it again. I have also had an error 502 message or something with a white screen and timer.
Thirdly the call drops even though I have full signal.
Fourth the battery life is poor and I am not even using it to talk, test, email, browse etc.
Could it by my os? I'm currently on 4.6.0.134, which was straight out of the box.
I have scoured google and forums for an answer but can find none, and RIM will not talk to me without paying. I would be so grateful if someone could please help me!

Wirelessly posted (9000)
I would start by installing a new OS. 147 (official) and 162 (unofficial) were good builds.
After that see what still doesn't work.
After you add the email address' do you get the email from Rim saying your device has been registered?

Hi, thanks for replying so quickly. Do you mean the registration from the host route? If so it is definitely registered as every time I call my service provider they suggest to do this and I have done it like five times now and receive the registration email instantly. Also when my data bundle was activated i got a messsae saying that it was all ok and would start to receive emals 20 minutes later and it has now been a week and nothing, despite emails in my account inbox!
The email accounts seem to have integrated fine on Bis and send emails fine, but I am just not able to receive email.
Question about the os, is where can I get it? Because Ive looked on the RIM download site and O2 my carrier aren't on there. I've also checked the O2 website and they don't have any bold os updates on there either.

The OS download/instructions are at the very top posts of this 9000 section of the forum
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-eastasia.html
Questions on your receiving email... at your O2 BIS site, did you set an filters or click/check a box "Do Not Forward Messages...". It is worth looking at your filters there to confirm you did not.

Only BIS at the moment. Want to get that working before I put my work account on BES.

I have checked my O2 BIS site and can confirm that it says there are no filters on each account. It really is quite confusing as to why this is happening, as I have searched meticulously for a solution and have tried all the recommended ones like filters, too many emails in inbox, etc, but nothing works. To begin with I thought it was my hotmail account, but thought it was strange as I pay for it, and then integrated my gmail and that is the same.

Would you try going into Mobile Network options, chaneg network selection to manual and set the type of connection to 2G and then scan for available networks and select your home 2G network. Now see if push email works

Did you upgrade the OS? I think this should be your first step.

To update then, I upgraded the os last night to .162 and it seems to have improved the problems, its not dropping calls any more, battery has improved and some email is being intermittently pushed. I've had about four of the test emails I've been sending over the week come through now, but there is a few more in there that haven't yet. Can anybody suggested how to speed the process up? All in all though, I'm feeling a little happier now as it is starting to do what it is supposed to!

Ok so half the day has passed and since this morning I have had no new emails push through, and on checking my inbox I have 10 new messages in there.
Also I have had people complaining that they are not being able to connect through to me when calling, but are being transferred straight to my voicemail. My signal is spending alot more time on EDGE without the blackberry icon next to it, rather than 3G with the Blackberry icon next to it on the old os. AM i now experiencing connectivity problems with this new upgrade?
Does anyone have anymore suggestions?
